Barney Aversano
AVERSANO - Barney, 90, born June 21, 1919,
in Farmingdale, NY passed away November 14, 2009. A longtime resident of
Hicksville, he moved in 2001 to Sarasota, Florida. A US Army Veteran, he
served his country on the Normandy-Omaha Beach, Battle of the Bulge. He
then became a Long Island State Park Police Officer. He served as PBA
President for the Park Police and Treasurer for the NYS Police Conference,
retiring in 1989 after 42 years of service. Barney is survived by his son,
Barney, Jr. (Debbie), and brother, Joseph, of Farmingdale. He was
predeceased by his wife, Mackie, and sisters, Philomenia and Ann. The
family will receive visitors Wednesday, 2-5 and 7-9:30pm, at the Arthur F.
White Funeral Home, Inc., 315 Conklin St. (Hempstead Tpke.) Farmingdale.
Funeral Mass Thursday, 9:45am, at St. Kilian R.C. Church, with interment
